Elegy of place and the family that called it home. Opens on a recurring childhood dream followed by abstract images of birth, mud, and flame. Photos from a homestead across multiple eras flash in rapid succession. Memories meld and time repeats.
Utilizes Super 8 sequences shot 60 years apart. The film's audio comes from a rock cap fern hooked up to a 4-track cassette recorder and distorted. Some of the images were developed in a creek water and wild onion developer. The developer materials and fern were foraged on location in Western Pennsylvania.
